About the Event

In the first half of this new Change Management workshop,  we will cover the Kotter's original eight step change management process (Leading Change, Our Iceberg is Melting)  and demonstrate how it can help organizations manage change within their existing structures.  In the second half of the workshop,  we will explore Kotter's newer work (XLR8) on how to build a flexible network designed for strategic change that operates alongside the existing management structure to make our organizations more agile, creative and innovative.

Shannon Beets spent several years at Sierra Nevada University.  At the university, Beets held various positions including Dean of Enrollment Services, Assistant Provost, Associate Provost for Graduate Programs and, most recently, Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness. In 2007, Beets was awarded the Distinguished Service Award at then Sierra Nevada College for her work on accreditation and she lead the campus in their preparations for the NWCCU Comprehensive Evaluation visit in April 2012. Beets worked closely with the SNC faculty to develop core themes based on the academic mission and is deeply committed to working with the campus community to strengthen and develop the liberal arts, professional preparedness, entrepreneurship and sustainability at the college.
