New in 2021!
Leadership Skills Workshops
The North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program has created a brand new series of workshops in order to give our community members what they need to thrive during changing times.
This new series is based on building leadership skills through two hour workshops. Most of the workshops have advanced work so that each participant can get the most out of each session.
Recordings of these sessions will be available on this website later this month.
About The Leadership Program
Returning in 2022
The North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program creates an opportunity for potential leaders to broaden their understanding of the region and its issues, challenges, and opportunities while developing and honing their leadership skills. Since 2004, the program has graduated over 400 individuals. These alumni are now challenging themselves, serving their employers and our community in a variety of active community-building efforts.
Each workshop is integrated with one-half of the time spent on regional issues such as health and education, planning for the future, and non-profit advocacy; and one-half on leadership skill development such as steward leadership, team basics, effective decisions, public speaking, and change management.
The 2022 program dates will be announced in the spring. The program includes five all-day sessions, one half day session, and optional days where participants will be “out in the field” getting a close-up view of issues, how various agencies work, and the challenges facing our community.

How It Works
6 Month Program
Workshops
The 2022 program dates will be announced in the spring. The program includes five all-day workshops, one half-day workshop, and optional days where participants are “out in the field” getting a close-up view of issues, how various agencies work, and the challenges facing our community.
Some of the main tenants of the program are networking, public speaking, and leadership skills development, including: effective decision making, problem solving, team dynamics, personality traits, change management. During each workshop, time is also spent on exploring regional issues such as environment, affordable housing, transportation, local food sources, planning for the future, and non-profit advocacy.
Action Plans
During the workshops, participants work in small groups to create Action Plans which are presented on the last day of the program. The Action Plans provide the framework to allow for real-world changes in the community. Plans emphasize collaboration with local community groups and promote positive, short-term impacts.
