Join Us!

This award-winning program creates an opportunity for potential leaders to broaden their understanding of the region and its issues, challenges, and opportunities while developing and honing their leadership skills. 
 
Since 2004, the program has graduated over 450 local individuals. These alumni are now challenging themselves, serving their employers and our community in a variety of active community-building efforts.

Leading all workshops is Shannon Beets, Director of Evaluation and Assessment, UNR School of Medicine, with over 20 years of higher education and leadership experience. 
Program Director, Karen Willcuts, is an alumni of the program from 2005.  She became the coordinator in 2013.  She has over 25 years of meeting and event planning experience.

The next Leadership Program starts January 2024

The tuition fee for the Leadership Program is $825 for businesses, $750 for special districts, and $600 for non-profit organizations.  The fee covers all expenses of the program including meals and supplies.  Partial scholarships are available.  The deadline to apply is December 4, 2023 at 5PM.  In order to consider you for the program, please submit the online application and also email two letters of recommendation to Karen@TahoeTruckeeLeadership.com by the deadline.

Program dates are:  January 16 (optional welcome reception), January 18, February 15, March 14, April 18, May 16, and May 30.

Interested in Sponsoring the Program?

There are two ways in which a company or individual can sponsor the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program: 

Program Sponsorships 

For a modest $500 investment, your business can become a signature sponsor for one day of the program. Benefits of sponsorship include:

*Name and logo recognition on program collateral, in press releases and on program web site

*15 minutes at the beginning of the sponsored day to provide attendees information about your company

*Two complimentary invitations to the graduation reception in May

Scholarships

Another way to support the program is by providing a full or partial scholarship for a participant.

Full scholarships are $750, Partial scholarships are $250 – $375 and include:

*Name on program collateral and on program website.

*Two complimentary invitations to the graduation reception in May
